But literally no one is saying this and I feel like I will be downvoted for even asking. So what's the deal? You're absolutely right, no-knock warrants are absurd and cause far more harm than good. No-knocks were meant to be used against gang hideouts, drug labs, places where moving quickly is essential. But like every tool we've given the militarized gang that is the US police system, its use has trickled down into everyday life and become normal. Look up "civil forfeiture" if you want another sad laugh, it's basically saying if the police find a lot of money on you, they can just keep it. It's supposed to be for Tony Montana-style drug dealers, now it's used in random traffic stops. But to your racism point, like most dangerous policing strategies in this country, they are disproportionately deployed against blacks. And when they ARE deployed, there is rarely anything anyone can do to seek justice or redress. Want to sue the department? I mean, I hope you survived the initial encounter, now hire some lawyers and get ready to wait a year or two for the payout. Want the officer fired or jailed? Good fucking luck, he's immune from prosecution for basically anything he does on the job.

This video from June of 2012 showing a 20-year-old man playing Dance Dance Revolution at an AMC theater in Connecticut. He is being unknowingly recorded from behind by some people who spotted him and they are both mocking him and admiring his skills at the game. He would then drive his car to the nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School, where he would murder 6 adults and 20 children who were between the ages of 6 and 7. During the shooting, he yelled abuse and obscenities at his victims. One student reported that he heard one of his classmates cry out "Help me! I don't want to be here!" and Lanza replied "Well, you're here." Upon hearing the sirens of responding police units, Lanza pulled out a 10mm pistol and shot himself. No motive for the shooting was ever found

Neither can I. I'm 26. My Dad tried to teach me when I was young but he had a bad temper and was basically verbally abusive. I never learned now because I just don't see myself using it for transportation and for leisure/exercise I would rather walk. don't worry about it man, a lot of the comments i've gotten have been from people who also don't know how to ride bikes. and i'm sorry you have an abusive father. i've been through that before, and it's not very fun. When my friends in 8th grade learned that I couldn't ride a bike, that became the activity of the night. I used to know how, but recently from helping my younger brother with his math I realized that I dont know how to solve long division. I was intent on not looking it up because Im stubborn and I want to prove to myself that I still know.
